Engineering








We have a team of highly experienced engineers who in addition their general engineering knowledge are also specialists in different areas such as gas, electronics, and hydraulics.

Engines:
We are agents for the Beta, Yanmar, and Bukh range of engines. We install several new engines each year and can carry out most repairs on site with specialist work such as injectors and gearboxes being sent to the appropriate service agent with a speedy turnaround.

Electronics:
We are agents for the Raymarine and Garmin range of electronics. Instruments are getting ever more sophisticated and our engineers attend annual courses to keep them up to date with the latest developments. We can carry out full installations, replacement, and can troubleshoot problems with existing equipment. We can also install battery chargers and battery management systems and are qualified to work on 240V systems. Should additional expertise ever be required we have quick access to specialised sub contractors.


Gas:
This is one area that should always be entrusted to the professional. Our gas engineer is fully trained and kept up to date with the latest developments and regulations. We will always pressure test a system after carrying out any work so you can be sure it has been properly checked and installed.

Hydraulics:
We have a hydraulic expert on our team and can install full systems or carry out repairs. The most common uses on board are steering or drive systems and we also come across its use in windlasses.

Welding:
With Tig, Mig, and Arc welding kit on site we can carry out most welding jobs in house. This can be repairs in steel or stainless steel to designing and fabricating bespoke stainless steel fittings such as stem fittings to accommodate the modern range of anchors. For alloy welding we have access to a specialist sub contractor.

Heating and refrigeration:
While we can carry out installation of heating and refrigeration systems and some repairs, we have a specialist sub contractor on site two days a week, most weeks. As this is his area of expertise he is employed by the yard to carry out most of this work.
